Drupal Wish #2: Easier Teasers

Sorry, no new text here, just a pointer to Drupal Mystery #1: Teasers. From my comment on that page, I'd like to see teasers set up with three radio button choices that the user must select from, per below. (And all build into core, of course.)

( ) Set teaser to <input some number> characters. (If left blank, Drupal will use the "Length of trimmed posts:" setting, under Post settings.)

( ) Set teaser to end at "<!-- Break -->" tag. You must add the tag yourself. <Add warning about what input formats are needed to work well with such tags.>

( ) Input custom teaser. <Follow with input field>

It's both a Drupal mystery and a Drupal wish, so for completeness, I'll make quick reference here.

Have you looked at the teasers in Drupal 6? They might do exactly what you're looking for. Or not. ;)

You would be Dries, the Drupal project lead, I believe? I am honored by the visit!

No, I haven't checked out Drupal 6 yet – and I fully expect that it will perfectly address some of my wishes. Plus some wishes I don't yet know I have.

I'm remiss in not exploring it yet. If I want to serve fellow beginners, I should get aboard 6 early and deliver reports to other newbies. Will do so!

Thanks --

Got unexpained "access denied" troubles keeping people from your content? Go to admin/content/node-settings, and try the 'Rebuild Permissions' button.
