This site's Links page is a flat, hand-coded list of URLs... and for a CMS as spiffy as Drupal, that just won't do.
But for a replacement solution, should I go with the Links Package module, or the Web Links module, or something else? A little search for pointers on Drupal.org turned up a page Comparison of links page modules, under the documentation section Comparisons of contributed modules. There's a good double-handful of comparison articles by helpful users; it's not close to covering all the "which one?" conundrums you'll come across, but there just might be a perfect answer to a specific question.
Another great resource for picking the perfect module is the Drupal Modules website. It doesn't have a function for directly comparing module features, but as a source of module information beyond the often-terse included documentation, and ratings of modules' features, reliability, ease of use, and documentation, it's a big help.
After you've done your own research, there's of course another method for comparing modules: ask experienced users on the Drupal.org forums or the Drupal Modules forums.
Readers, what other resources are out there for comparing and choosing among modules offering similar functionality?
