If you've got need for a search function with more oomph than the built-in model offers, then this – or some variation of it you concoct – could be just the thing. It's a nice introduction to the deep and powerful Views module, as well as to another module (views_fastsearch) many of us won't be familiar with; and it's a good tutorial project for an energetic Drupal student.
