Site visitors seeing your ugly error messages on the screen (along with details of your Drupal installation path)? Once your site goes from dev to launch, you probably want to have errors recorded in the log but not splashed across the screen. Head to the handy Error Reporting settings found at admin/settings/error-reporting.
Putting Seth Godin to work
See, here's the funny part. After I went and wrote that big post on how much I love the What Would Seth Godin Do module, it stopped working for me. Only on Drupalace.com, not other sites on which I implemented it.
I could swear, too, that upon immediately checking the block settings, they were a-okay. But yesterday, I checked again in frustration, and they were only a-skew. The block was hidden by default, and was further set to only show if PHP code returns TRUE (but no such code was specified). Huh? Not only did I not input those settings for this block, I don't think I've ever used those settings for any block.
This site is haunted. Not in dramatic ways like my logo's spade-head character spinning around and spewing obscenities (hmm, maybe I could do that in Flash...). Just in little things that go wrong on this site and this site only. Spooky!
Well, I think things are working now. Come and visit, and if you glimpse anything... wrong out of the corner of an eye, tell yourself it's not real. Oh, and if a strange old man with the Innsmouth look offers you a dusty tome with forbidden CSS code, smile, nod, and move on.
