Tired of logging in again and again to a Drupal site that keeps kicking you out? You can modify session length, i.e. the length of time that a logged-in session stays logged in, via the ini_set('session.cookie_lifetime'... line in the site's settings.php file. Why, yes. Indeed it was.
Readers, I'll leave this spam comment here as an example of the oddness that goes on in today's Spamnet. Google shows me that the quote above was taken from this RPG gaming website. And on that page, in turn, there's a comment from the same spammer, quoting this page.
So we have spammers – automated spambots, I presume – lifting text from two randomly (?) selected web pages out there, and cross-posting each quote to the other site. All for the purpose of slipping the target URL into the "posted by" line, with the "legitimate" quotes text preventing spam filters from catching on.
All old news to those who watch spam, but interesting nonetheless. And so doth the arms race escalate...
